This is a stunning fighting game in the Soulcalibur series, developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The story focuses on the battle between the two legendary blades: Soul Edge, the cursed sword and Soul Calibur, the spirit sword. Give it a try!
The story take place between the years 1583 and 1590, and as we mention previously, focuses on the battle between the two legendary blades.
Soulcalibur VI is a pretty story-focused game, which you don’t see frequently in fighters. Also is good to know that the game serves as a reboot of the series. The way it doing that is by retelling the story of the very first Soulcalibur. But this time it is approached from different angles and perspectives. So there are new secrets discovered and revelations that were not in the first game. The game has some substories too. The storytelling is created through a mix of cutscenes and narration done over many illustrations and art. In the beginning of the story, Kilik sets out on his quest to steal the Soul Edge. You are able to see the story from the perspective of multiple characters.
One of the biggest additions in Soulcalibur VI regarding new mechanics is Reversal Edge. It is a single button timing-based mechanic that allows you to block oncoming attacks. This triggers a slow-motion effect and gives you the chance to quickly strike back with a counter attack of your own. When the slow motion effect appears , the opposing players engage in a single button exchange against each other. The winner is decided by a rock-paper-scissors-like system of strengths and weaknesses.
